Keep Kitties Away from Easter Lilies

Okay, it has nothing to do with crafts or human health, but pet health is important, too, right? So do your cats a favor and don’t let them have access to Easter lilies, shown in the photo above — unless you enjoy rushing to the vet with a very sick cat. That’s the advice from Kansas State University veterinarian Kenneth Harkin. Tiger lilies and Asiatic hybrid lilies are dangerous, too, he adds.

Lilies aren’t harmful to dogs, bunnies or other small pets, says Harkin. But  don’t let these pets snack on plants like lily of the valley, oleander, kalanchoe, azalea, rhododendron and tulips. Yikes! Looks like we have some emergency gardening to take care of. Back soon!
